We believe strongly in helping those institutions that are all about helping others. As part of our pro bono scheme, part of our work and business resources at Nexus Polytech are reserved for doing work at a reduced cost or no cost for charities, benevolent institutions, non-for-profits, and other actors who work for the public good.

Who is this for?

This scheme is directed at not-for-profits and organisations that serve the public good, such as charities, shelters, associations, advocacy groups, and benevolent institutions. This scheme also applies to unincorporated associations.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for assistance under this, an applicant must:

  • Be a legitimate not-for-profit entity;
  • Have not received any work from this scheme for the last 12 months;
  • Satisfy the means test applied by this scheme;
  • Request work that has merit and directly relates to the primary cause or objective of the entity;
  • Request work that has a reasonable likelihood of success and completion;
  • Have an organisation structure that does not prohibit or hinder democratic participation;
  • Have organisational mechanisms in place for transparency and accountability. 

What disqualifies an applicant?

If an applicant meets any of the following criteria, they are disqualified from receiving any pro bono assistance from this scheme:

  • Being incorporated outside of Australia, and/or a majority of operations occurring outside of Australia; 
  • Being a Political Party, or being owned by, associated with, or related to a Political Party;
  • Have directed or supported communications or materials encouraging people to vote for a particular Party, Candidate, or Group in an election;
  • Being a trade union or an industry association;
  • Being a Government entity part of an Australian government or any foreign government;
  • Being an entity established under Legislation.

Will I be selected?

While we will make every effort to help worthwhile causes, there is no guarantee that you will receive assistance. This scheme relies on the number of applicants, the size of the requested work, and the amount of pro bono work already completed.

All works must have an anticipated start date of at least 3 months from the application date. Successful applicants will be notified when their work is likely to commence.

Nexus Polytech maintains the right to select or not select any application for any reason, irrespective of eligibility or disqualification status, with no requirement or obligation on our part to disclose the grounds of any decision.
